Ruff:

#1500L16

linen, lace  Starts at $50

Underproper Starts at $50

Small ruffs are starched linen and can have lace edging.  Large ruffs are linen, lace or both and are supported by an underpropper, which is a wire collar.  All underproppers come with a padded neckband for comfort.

Ruff pictured here is 6" wide on a linen band, unstarched.

See "partlet" on undergarments page for a common woman's ruff.

Apron:

#1500L17

Linen, cotton

$30

Aprons help preserve the workingwoman's kirtle (gown).  They are easier to wash and less expensive to replace when they get soiled.  Many had elaborate trim along the hem and two ties, one at the waist, and another lower on the skirt to hold the apron on your lap, and to help create a large "pocket" when carrying objects like fruit or other goods.

Coif:

#1500L18

Linen

$20

Coifs cover your hair, like a skullcap or bonnet.

Flea Fur:

#1500L19

Starts at $40

Flea furs were carried as a gentlewoman's accessory for about a century.  They were generally animals from the weasel family tanned as a single piece and had decorative masks & paws and a chain or leash.  They were worn as a neck adornment, hanging from the belt or carried in the hand like a pet.

Our basic flea furs have modeling clay masks & paws.  If you want real metals & stones, please order well in advance.

Garters:
