Muffs keep your hands warm and look very elegant. Our cloth muffs are stuffed with cotton or wool batting. Linings can be velvet, satin, wool, cotton or fur. The outer material should match your cloak.
Engageantes:

1840’s - 1900. False sleeves, were worn under pagoda bodices and as lace cuffs later on. They could be pinned, sewn or laced to the chemise or dress, then removed for easy laundering.
The white parts of the sleeves are engageantes.

19th century purses or bags evolved from the 18th century pocket, now worn around the wrist rather than the waist. Keep your money, glasses, sewing kit, miniature books, etc. in it.
They were often made from fabric that matched the gown, had tassels, fringe or jewels on them & came in various shapes & sizes.

Pelerines are a fitted neck & shoulder garment worn over the dress. They were worn from the mid 1820's until 1850, when they evolved into the mantelet or fichu. Pelerines serve the same purpose as any modesty cloth, but were often elaborately layered, trimmed or made to match the fabric of the dress.
Pelisse:

The Pelisse was worn from 1800 to around 1850 when skirts became too large for the garment. It is an overcoat that can be lined or trimmed with fur for winter wear, or made from lightweight material for summer evenings. The Pelisse can be knee to ankle length and often has a military flair.
Pair it with a muff, shawl or gloves.
