Terms & Conditions, Disclaimers & Pricing Information
Oakhill Clothiers and its associates are not responsible for any damages or injuries resulting from wearing or use of our custom garments. Please use common sense when wearing your new clothing. Do not wear loose clothing around open flames or machinery. Do not lace corsets or gowns past your comfort level or tighter than the structural integrity of the garment will allow. If fabric becomes thin near a bone or stay contact us for repair instructions, DO NOT continue to wear it. Remember: A stitch in time saves nine.
Follow all care and cleaning instructions that accompany your order, via e-mail or on your order form. When all else fails hand wash cool, lay flat to dry.

If you would like a paper catalog, put paper in your printer and hit "print." We no longer offer paper catalog due to printing & shipping costs, and time constraints... Sorry about that.

Pricing Information
Embroidery, cutwork, ribbon-work, lace, trim, hand sewing, beading, natural dying, specialty items, leather and fur are extra depending on the complexity of the design, availability of materials and production time.
Fabric: We pay for the first $5/yd; you cover the rest.
Additional fabric (fabric that is not part of the structural garment, ex: overlays, lace, etc.): you pay all costs.
Linings: (not part of the "original" garment): you pay all fabric costs + 50% of the original garment price.
Hand sewing: $10/hr. For 100% hand sewn garments delivery is within 1 year from deposit.
Embroidery: $10/hr + materials.
Cutwork: $10/hr.
Ribbon-work: $10/hr. + materials
Lace: you pay what we pay + $10/hr application time.
Other Trim (self-fabric, like rosettes, ruching, etc): materials + $10/hr application time.
Beading: supplies + $10/hr.
Natural dying: all dyestuffs + $10/yd of dyed fabric (in addition to original fabric costs)
Commercial dyestuffs: cost of dye
Buttons: you pay what we pay, no charge to sew them on a garment we've made.
Snaps: $2/ snap to sew.
Specialty items (jewels, etc.): you pay materials + other applicable costs
Fur / faux fur / leather: you pay materials + $10/hr to sew, as it's mostly hand sewing. All fur / faux fur / leather choices are subject to availability.
Customer Provided Fabric*: Yes, you can supply your own material! Garments made from customer fabric are base price + any additional options (hand sewing, embroidery, etc).
*Balance is due upon completion of garments made from customer provided materials. If the balance is not paid within 2 years or other arrangements are not made, the garment will become the property of Oakhill Clothiers and will be added to our stock. All payments and materials will be lost. Please see refund/exchange policy before sending us your fabric.
Custom Patterns: We make custom patterns for $20 each. All copyright laws apply.
Delivery Time
Notice: Due to year-end rush, orders placed after Oct 15, 2009 will be delivered no sooner than Feb 15, 2010. If you have a rush order we may or may not be able to accommodate you at this time.
Please allow 2-6 months for delivery. There will be a 20% rush charge on orders with a delivery date of less than 4 weeks from date of deposit. Some orders may take longer, depending on the season, availability of materials and the complexity of your order.
If you have a large order (wedding party, play, movie, etc.) please order well in advance. We have been known to work miracles, but we like to have enough time to make what you want.
Payment
A down payment, totaling the base price of the garment(s) is due when you place your order.
No down payment, no order.
All outstanding balances on finished garments must be paid in full before we ship. If the outstanding balance is not paid within 2 years the garment will be returned to stock and all deposits lost, unless other arrangements are made.
Customer pays all shipping and insurance.
4% sales tax applies to all in-state purchases under $100. 8% sales tax applies to all in-state purchases on garments over $100.
Payment Methods:
We accept: Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover Card, money orders and personal checks. We also accept cash in person; please don't send it through the mail. Call us with your credit card number; don't send that through the mail.
Lay-Away:
We have a lay-away plan and will hold the garment(s) for 2 years from the date of your initial deposit. If the balance is not paid within 2 years the garment(s) will be returned to stock & all deposits lost. You may cancel the lay-away at any time within that 2 years and receive a full refund for payments made.
Gift Certificates:
Gift certificates are available in-store or through postal mail. Gift certificates must be turned in at the time of purchase or order, and cannot be exchanged for cash. We do not issue replacements for lost certificates.
Guarantee:
We offer a 2-year guarantee to the original owner. This covers normal wear on: seams, buttons, fabric integrity (within reason), embroidery, etc. We will repair or replace as needed within that time frame. Customer pays all shipping & insurance costs.
Guarantee does not apply if you do not follow washing & care instructions.
Ex: do not put your wool shirt in a hot washer & dryer and expect it to come out the same size it went in. Do not do knee slides or compete in a wrestling match and expect your pants or hose will survive, chances are they won't. If you light your garment on fire, we hope you are OK, and will make repairs if possible, but you are responsible for paying those costs.
Refund / Exchange Policy:
Refunds will be issued in the same method of payment used by the customer, except cash. Cash refunds will be issued via postal money orders.
Restock fees may apply, and will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Full Refunds:
Full & immediate refunds on custom orders are only available before we have purchased your fabric & materials.
Full refunds on stock garments ordered through our web site are available if the garment is returned within 10 business days, and has not been worn. (Yes, you may try it on to see if it fits).
Partial & Delayed Refunds:
If you cancel your custom order after your fabric & materials have been purchased, we will refund your payment minus the cost of fabric & materials per yard. After the fabric/garment has been sold we will issue the remainder of your payment via postal money order, which will be sent to your billing address.
If you cancel your custom order after your garment has been completed, we will issue a refund after that garment has been sold.
No Refunds:
No refunds will be issued for in-store purchases. All sales are final; please try it on before you buy!
No refunds for custom patterns, ever.
No refunds for garments made from customer provided material. We recommend a test garment before you authorize us to cut/use your material.
No refunds on shipping charges.
Exchanges:
You may exchange any new garment, custom or purchased, that does not fit for any garment of the same value. We want you to be happy with the clothes we make for you!
We will replace ill-fitting garments as soon as possible, but this will depend on availability of supplies and current delivery dates.
